Overview
This is a plugin for WordPress which allows you to serve your WordPress content in different content types with fall-back option for backward compatibility.
Features
These are the list of features available in the current version.
- Selection of preferred MIME Content-type, Character set and XML declaration.
- Specify fall-back MIME Content-type, Character set and XML declaration in case of browser incompatibility.
- Ability to specify custom parameters for each of the above if not already listed.
- Complete customization from admin panel.
- Conforms to XHTML 1.0 Strict / XHTML 1.1
- Compatible to be served as application/xhtml+xml
Requirements
- WordPress 1.5 or above
Installing
- Download the zip archive and extract it.
- Upload the files extracted to the plug-ins directory. (E.g. /wp-content/plugins/)
- Now the plugin should appear under the ‘Plugins’ tab in admin panel.
- Activate the plug-in.
- A new tab named after the plugin name will appear under the ‘Options’ tab in admin panel.
- That’s it.
Configuring
- Go to the ‘mymime’ tab under admin panel’s ‘Options’ tab.
- Change the ‘Preferred Settings’ to values which you prefer your content to be served if browser supports it.
- Change the ‘Fall-back Settings’ to values which should be used to serve your content in case of the browser does not support the ‘Preferred Settings’
- After you have set the settings, just click ‘Update Settings’ button.
- Now, your content will be served as you set the ‘Preferred Settings’.
